COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to reduce the threat of Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD’s) due to the long term effects of repetitive movements, forceful exertions, vibrations and awkward positioning. Classroom discussion of health problems, such problems as carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve problems and tendonitis that can be caused by improper ergonomic principles will be part of this training module. Trainees with gain an understanding of how to prevent or reduce the threat of these problems through proper posturing, correct work station design and minimizing repetitive motion.

The trainee will become familiar with ladder and scaffold terms clarifying the different types of ladders and scaffolds and their related parts and equipment. This course is designed to provide participants with training on the current standards of the National Electric Code. Classroom discussion will focus on changes in the latest updated NEC Standard, but also include introductions and requirements for following, circuits and feeders, related current, voltage, wattage, and resistance calculations, grounding and lighting arresters, conduit, raceways and multi outlet assemblies. Practical wiring examples will be demonstrated with further discussions on fuses, circuit breakers, boxes, switches, fixtures and cabling requirements.

NFPA 70E ARC FLASH
COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This course is designed to provide participants with training on the current standards of National Fire Prevention Association’s Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E). This training session will address the risks posed by electrical hazards such as shock, electrocution, arc flash and arc blast. Training will cover the full range of electrical issues from work practices to maintenance, equipment requirements, and installation. OSHA bases its electrical safety mandates on the information included in this important standard. This training will be tailored to address the related safety issues and how they apply to each participant’s worksite and duties.

NOISE / VIBRATION
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide participants with basic knowledge of the effects of excessive noise and vibration in the workplace. Emphasis will be placed of the effects of chronic exposure and long term complications of exposure when the proper protective equipment and controls are not utilized. Methods to reduce noise in the workplace will be discussed. The importance of using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will also be stressed.
