LADDERS AND SCAFFOLDS

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
​This course is designed to provide participants with the proper procedures and safe practices to avoid unsafe conditions while using ladders and scaffolds in their work environment. Emphasis will be placed on controlling and minimizing hazards in the workplace. The trainee will become familiar with ladder and scaffold terms clarifying the different types of ladders and scaffolds and their related parts and equipment. Scaffold platform construction will be discussed.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Discussions and demonstrations of lockout devices with an emphasis on verification that equipment will not operate or release stored energy accidentally will be included.

NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide participants with training on the current standards of the National Electric Code. Classroom discussion will focus on changes in the latest updated NEC Standard, but also include introductions and requirements for following, circuits and feeders, related current, voltage, wattage, and resistance calculations, grounding and lighting arresters, conduit, raceways and multi outlet assemblies. Practical wiring examples will be demonstrated with further discussions on fuses, circuit breakers, boxes, switches, fixtures and cabling requirements.

NFPA 70E ARC FLASH

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
​This course is designed to provide participants with training on the current standards of National Fire Prevention Association’s Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E). This training session will address the risks posed by electrical hazards such as shock, electrocution, arc flash and arc blast. Training will cover the full range of electrical issues from work practices to maintenance, equipment requirements, and installation. OSHA bases its electrical safety mandates on the information included in this important standard. This training will be tailored to address the related safety issues and how they apply to each participant’s worksite and duties.

NOISE / VIBRATION

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide participants with basic knowledge of the effects of excessive noise and vibration in the workplace. Emphasis will be placed of the effects of chronic exposure and long term complications of exposure when the proper protective equipment and controls are not utilized. Methods to reduce noise in the workplace will be discussed. The importance of using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will also be stressed.

This course is designed to educate program participants on the potential dangers of violence in the workplace. The goal of the class will be to train all employees in recognition of common acts of violence, with an emphasis placed upon prevention. Employees will also be trained on how to react should an act of violence occur, including getting medical attention, reporting and securing the area so evidence is not disturbed.
